A look today's commercial real estate market reveals a big box graveyard. It’s only fitting that the renovation and adaptive reuse of commercial properties is on the rise.
Many of these abandoned big box structures are strategically located but need to be updated. The focus is taking existing assets and making them stronger by redeveloping or retrofitting for a use different from the original intent. The philosophy is green at heart.
Earth Fare, a natural foods grocer, chose the old CompUSA store at the Riverchase Galleria for a transformation which would present their concept to the Birmingham market. By reusing an old structure, we gave a building that had been vacant for eight years new life. The community and the client benefitted in turn.
