The Highlands School
A reinforced concave window wall provides natural sunlight to the school’s media center.
The Highlands School, an independent elementary, was in need of an update, and they wanted it to happen while class was in session. We have plenty of experience flying under the radar. No problem.
We rebuilt the entire civil infrastructure including an extensive storm water system, all utilities, new entrances, parking areas, a new soccer field and our favorite—a new playground. We renovated existing buildings. We constructed a new media and administrative center. And it all happened without disruption to the children’s learning.
The media center included a reinforced concave window wall to provide natural sunlight to the library portion of the building. It had to be built out of compound warped tubing and then structurally reinforced. It wasn’t easy, but the result is something special. We know the kids will enjoy their new campus for years to come.
