Stewart/Perry is an employee-centered construction company offering general contracting and construction management services, building mostly in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states. We are currently seeking a Construction Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our team in the main office in Birmingham.
While we often build large-scale projects, there are many ways we still operate like a smaller shop. Our AP Coordinator will be responsible for The Accounts Payable Process — including processing, tracking, and recording payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. Focus is to ensure that invoices are compliant, and payments are in accordance with purchase order and company requirements. As a member of the Accounting Team, you will be working with our Project Management Team and communicating with Vendors throughout the entire payment process.
General Responsibilities:
- Receive, review and process properly supported invoices for payment.
- Perform invoice general-ledger data entry.
- Obtain approvals, voucher payables and print checks.
- Follow up and communicate with Project Managers and Vendors throughout the entire payment process to completion.
Other Responsibilities:
- Reconciliations, month-end close and audit support.
- Monthly Sales and Use tax filing.
- Back-up for Subcontract Payables.
Qualifications:
- Accounts Payable experience and construction background preferred.
- Working Knowledge of MS Office applications and willingness to learn additional software. Vista by Viewpoint knowledge a plus.
- Attention to detail, strong time management and organizational skills required.
- Possess written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate both internally and externally.
- Strong team player, capable of working and fostering a positive work environment.
- The ability to multi-task and problem solve are essential.
This is a full-time position based at our corporate campus in Birmingham, AL. In addition to a competitive salary, Stewart/Perry offers the opportunity for additional compensation, BCBS Health Insurance, and a 401(K) plan with matching funds.

Pay: $52,000.00 – $62,000.00 per year
