Recently, I have seen quite a few articles about Santa. A few things grownups can learn from the man:
1. Focus on giving, not the receiving. Santa puts great effort into getting the right gifts and expects nothing in return, other than maybe some milk and cookies.
2. Always be on time. Santa understands deadlines.
3. Write letters. Children submit their gift requests to Santa in letter format. Nothing is as impactful as a real letter with a real stamp, no emails allowed. Learn too.
4. Reward good behavior. If children want presents at Christmastime, they have to work hard to earn them by being good all year. A visit from Santa is the reward.
5. Know the power of teamwork. Santa doesn’t do it by himself. He has his elves, his reindeer, Mrs. Claus and thousands of good volunteers around the world.
The right behavior is more than a series of tasks or transactions. It’s about moving hearts and minds.
Merry Christmas.
